Week 5: 21 graces

1. Lorelei wanting to read "Goodnight Moon" over and over again
2. Not having a great day (parenting-wise), but embracing the God-given conviction and choosing to change rather than sulk
3. Good medical news about my beloved grandmother (after a string of bad news)
4. Going to bed an hour early and waking up without an alarm
5. My husband's job***

***I had to choose many times on Saturday to be thankful for my husband's job.  He unexpectedly got called in to work, and was there from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.  I was not very happy about that...but...suppose he didn't even have a job?

6. Recognizing and fighting against our inherent selfishness
7. Having a husband who does not bat an eye at attending church without me (I stayed home with Lorelei who was running a fever; he took Sydney to church with him)
8. Pedicures (which I do not take for granted like I used to)
9. The Focus on the Family iPhone app
10. A brisk morning stroller walk
11. Reading to a captive audience of two
12. Board meetings that leave you full of hope
13. A 3-year old getting a haircut
14. DiGiorno pizza
15. A heartfelt conversation with a dear friend
16. Getting rid of Sydney's pacifiers...forever
17. Going back to the gym after a prolonged absence
18. Having a good book at your fingertips (thank you, Kindle app!)
19. A Chick-fil-a date with my two favorite daughters
20. Realizing (after the fact) your 3-year old behaved the entire time you were at the mall (!!!)
21. Cancelling our cable (more on that in another post)

#1 Ah Goodnight Moon. My oldest (3) is still in love with it as it was his first favorite book. It brings such nostalgia everytime we read it and the stages of knowing the book he has gone through.
#8 Me too! I was treated to one this week and boy was it nice to really soak it all in and relish in the peaceful moment of pampering without any whining in the background!
#10 We were blessed with great walking weather this week and took full advantage. Love the change of pace - literally.
#16 We are approaching this. He only has it at bedtime but it is getting to be time.
#20 Such a nice treat!

Have a great weekend!

Thank you, Casey! Getting rid of the pacificer will be no problem for your little guy. I think it would have been harder for my daughter had we done it months earlier!

You have a great weekend too!
