8.75 Months
Yes, 8.75 months. Remember in June (between her 4- and 5-month photos) when I said I would never wait to take her picture a mere week before the next month-day? Well...we moved. That's my excuse for waiting so long to take her 8-month pictures. Also, now that she's scooting around on her bottom, gone is the Boppy pillow that I used to prop her up for these pictures. From here on out I'll be lucky to capture her looking at the camera and not squirming (but we still have fun!). Also, she turned 9-months old yesterday, but don't worry: taking her 9-month pictures is on Saturday's to-do list! :-)

Syd's Halloween Costume
Hi, everyone! Sydney's photographer (as if Sydney is her only subject!) posted pictures on her blog from the "Halloween Quick Takes" session she did last weekend. Check it out (Sydney is the one in the Navy Cheerleader outfit).

TAP
TAP stands for Transition Assistance Program, which is the class I am taking this week instead of going to work. Let me back up a little bit...for those of you who don't know, I submitted my resignation paperwork to the Navy's Personnel Bureau last month. I will have served my obligated five years come May 2011, and I requested to get out of the Navy in June 2011 (yes, requested...the Navy can technically deny my request to resign, but that's unlikely). Anyway, TAP is the first step (for me) to begin the resignation process (even though the Navy hasn't officially approved my resignation yet), but it's a good class to take early because it doles out a lot of good information about Veterans' benefits, the GI Bill, how to get a job, and how to be a civilian (LOL!). Actually, in my opinion, the class it mostly geared toward getting a job in the civilian world...which is good...but it doesn't really apply to me since I plan on staying home with Sydney (woo hoo!). Anyway, I thought I'd provide you all that random update. Hope everyone is having a good week so far! And here's a picture of Sydney:

Thinking about crawling...
Sydney will be 9 months old next week, and has yet to crawl (I'm honestly okay with that though, because it would have been much harder chasing her around as we were unpacking/settling into the new house...and I want Chet to make it home before she takes her first steps!). She's thinking about it though! She definitely wants to move around, and does so by sitting upright and scooching around on her bottom. She's quite good at it! So here are a few pictures of her doing a little more than just sitting still (it's hard to capture "scooching" in pictures). By the way, she's wearing the crazy white onesie because I had her picture taken earlier in her Halloween costume...she's going to be a Navy cheerleader...so cute...

Dad's Pictures
My dad came to Jacksonville a few days before we moved and stayed until we had been in the new house a few days. He was such a big help (honestly, I couldn't have done the move without him)! Here are a few pictures he took with his iPhone while he was here.
Moving Van in Front of Old House
Subway (we had a few Subway dinners throughout the move!)
New House (Sydney still isn't quite sure how to use the walker)
I like to call this one "Flapping Hand" (she was excited!)

Some Cuteness
Because I'm not even sure where to start with all that we've been up to lately, I'll take the easy way out and just post some cute pictures of Sydney. (By the way, we are officially settled in to the new house. It took me every bit of a month to get there, but it's done, and I'm thankful!)

House Picture
Hi, everyone! I don't have much time right this moment, but promise I'll update you on everything and post more Sydney and house pictures once I get my act together! Here is an outside shot of the new house to tide you over.
