New Method of Travel

Maybe everyone does this, but I thought of it only today: put Lorelei's Bumbo chair in the wagon so she can ride with Sydney! Both girls loved it, and it kept me from having to carry Lorelei in the Baby Bjorn (which gets harder every day as the weather warms up and Lorelei gets heavier).

Teeth

I finally got a shot of Lorelei's teeth.  It's so funny, because the two bottom teeth are growing in at exactly the same rate.  I included Syd's first tooth picture too, because I think these pictures are funny/weird.
Lorelei, 6 months, 1 week old

Sydney, 4 months, 3 weeks old (you can BARELY see that tooth on the bottom left)

More 6-Month Pictures

Lorelei had just woken up from a nap before I took these pictures, so she was pretty relaxed and didn't offer very many varied expressions during this session.  Which was fine with me, because it means I got "the one" pretty much right away.

Those eyes and that stare...she is NOT afraid to look people in the eyes and stare them down!

Thighs (the red mark on the top of her right thigh is from her shots Monday).

It seems that she's developed the "Sydney Syndrome".

This face says, "This is your first and only warning!"

6 Months Old!

Lorelei is a half-year old already!  I can't believe it.  She had her 6-month check up last Thursday.  She weighed 15.4 lbs and was just under 25 inches long.  She's consistently in the 34th percentile for weight, which sounds low to all of us, because she is CHUBBY!  I think the technician who administered her shots put it perfectly: "She's tiny, but she really packs it in!  She REALLY packs it in!"  I'm still laughing about that...

Lorelei is still not great on her tummy (I don't give her enough "tummy time"), so I don't imagine she'll crawl soon.  She is doing really well sitting up though.  I believe she will be sitting independently consistently very soon!  (You can tell she's quite impressed with her own sitting up skills.)  She still just has the two teeth, but they are quite visible now.  I started her on rice cereal the day she had her appointment, and she's doing alright with it.  Not rejecting it, but not devouring it. (Sydney wanted to try it and she NOT think it tasted good, ha!)  She still wakes up once a night to eat, but I don't mind.  She has the sweetest little disposition, and she DEFINITELY prefers her mommy to hold her.

I can't think of anything else to report on the Lorelei front...I need to post a Sydney update soon...

PJ in Town

Papa John (my dad) is in town this week, which guarantees Sydney lots of outside time!

A Few More Easter Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from Easter.  The girls' baskets, and pictures from our little Easter egg hunt in the backyard.  This was Syd's first time hunting eggs, and as soon as she saw them on the grass she started grabbing them.  She didn't quite get the putting them in her basket part though.  And as soon as she realized there were fruit snacks in them, all was lost.  None of the kids were competitive egg hunters...they just had fun picking a couple up every now and then, playing with bubbles, and climbing on the little fort.  The mamas ended up picking up the rest of the eggs.  I think she will have a great time egg hunting next year, when Chet is home!

I am a mean mom.  The girls got beach towels for Easter instead of candy (the Peeps you see in the baskets were quickly confiscated).

You know how it is trying to get several kids to look at the camera at the same time.  I shouted and was able to get this picture...obviously they are shocked/scared that I shouted.  And, believe it or not, this was the very best picture I managed to get, ha!

I can't leave out Lorelei, taking in the action (ignore the crazy lady in the background).

At the Park

Lorelei was sleepy, hence the grumpy look on her face.

Happy Easter (and Angela's visit)!

Happy Easter, everyone!  He is risen!

We had a wonderful, low-key Easter holiday.  Angela drove into town Thursday evening, and left after church today.  The weekend was full of...not much, which made it perfect!  We relaxed, laughed at Sydney and Lorelei, and ate yummy food.  We didn't do much sightseeing (wait, we didn't do ANY sightseeing), but it's exactly what we needed.  Sydney, Lorelei, and I miss her already, but are thankful for her visit!

Angela and Lorelei

Silly girls.  (And, no, I can't seem to remember why Lorelei is not wearing clothes in any of these pictures.)

Easter morning.

Outtakes.

I'm pretty sure Lorelei's trying to bite Syd's fingers.

This one's pretty cute, but not sure why Syd's fingers are on Lorelei's face.

"We're bored!"
