Don't give up on me!

Hello, everyone! First of all, the reason I haven't posted in so long is because we moved! The movers packed up our belongings Monday, September 13th, and moved everything into the new house the next day. I've been doing my best to get unpacked and everything organized since then. I've had plenty of visitors and help, but it's still slow going, especially with working full time and spending time with Sydney after work. It will get finished...eventually...but for those of you who know me well, I'm EXTREMELY picky about where things go, and to me, the move isn't finished until everything is EXACTLY where I think it should be (which is ridiculous, and only drives me crazy, but I haven't learned my lesson yet). I'll go into more detail about the move and post pictures of the new house soon, but for now I'm going to start where I left off...

On August 26th I posted that Sydney was getting her second round of pictures taken, and that I wold let everyone know when the photographer had posted them online. Well, we went to the session...and it ended early, because Sydney tumbled out of a chair and bumped her head. She's completely fine, but we had to reschedule. We were more successful September 15th (no accidents this time), and the photographer posted a few sneak peek pictures on her blog (http://nitzphotography.com/blog/?p=1923). I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!

More Cute/Funny Pictures

Here are some more cute/funny pictures from the 7-month photo session (I'm not sure she's going to stay put at the next one!).

Weather (and other things)

The last two mornings (when I walk outside for the first time to load the car for work and school) the temperature has felt...nice. That being said, I have a confession to make, something I've finally admitted to myself: I don't like summer. Not at all. I used to like summer...back when I was in middle school and I spent all day long at the neighborhood pool, playing with friends and eating mostly Cheetos. But now I don't like it. I think spending four years in Annapolis has something to do with it. The summers in Annapolis were also very hot, but there were three other very distinct seasons to balance the hot summer weather. And I was okay with that. But I'm not okay with the Jacksonville summers (and I'm sure I won't like Mississippi summers either, which is where we hope to move next). Oh, well. Perhaps Chet and I can eventually do a tour in Annapolis or D.C., and that will satiate my desire for seasons for a while!

In other news, Sydney's two top teeth are in! They're not visible unless you're really looking for them, but they've definitely broken through, and she's seemed much happier the last couple of days now that her top teeth are finally here!
We're also doing Sydney's second photo session tomorrow! I'm really excited, and I think her pictures will turn out really cute since she's sitting up so well. I'll keep you all posted regarding where to view her pictures online!

Mom and Grant's Visit!

Last Thursday, my mom (Sydney's Didi) and Grant (Sydney's Uncle Granter Boy...that's not really what she calls him, but that's how I like to refer to him!) flew into town and stayed until Sunday! We had so much fun hanging out, shopping, and going to the beach. Speaking of the beach, last Saturday was Sydney's very first beach trip (which is pathetic considering the beach is literally our backyard). Sydney also ate squash and banana puffs for the first time last weekend. She's now up to rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, green peas, squash, and pears! Since I'm already off on a tangent, Sydney's 6-month well-baby doctor appointment was Tuesday: she weighs 15 lbs even, and is 26 1/4 inches long!

Sydney Sitting Up

Sydney's been sitting unassisted for almost two weeks now, and here are some pictures from one of our play sessions on Chet's and my bed (we do this most nights before it's time for her to go to sleep).
