The Last Monthly Picture

Here it is, the 12-month picture (but first, look at the other eleven!):

If you're thinking, "Huh, that last picture looks different than the others", you'd be right. I waited until the evening before we left on our trip to West Palm Beach to take her 12-month photo, and the lighting was all wrong and everyone was in a weird mood and it just didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.  In fact, when I announced that it was time to take the 12-month picture, Chet said, "Didn't we just pay someone to do that?"  (Yes, Chester...but not this 12-month picture!  More on our official family photos later.)

Oh, well.  Here's what went on that evening (instead of packing, like we should have been doing):

Sydney "helped" this time, which made things...interesting. (She served as my test subject while Chet dressed Lorelei in her onesie.)

The very last of the light...

Chet tried covering up with the blanket and holding Lorelei in place...

...but she didn't like that (Sydney did).

Syd was mad that we kept telling her, "Please move!"
I will try my best to catch everyone up on what's been going on around here...but we're all a little under the weather, so bear with me!

Thursday Thoughts (not really)

Thursday flew by me again, along with Thursday Thoughts.  There's not much bouncing around in this head of mine, other than what to pack for our trip to West Palm Beach, so I'll leave you with this: Sydney and Lorelei look nothing alike!  Here they are on their first birthdays:

Am I right, or am I right?

More Birthday Pictures

I'll probably have even more pictures than this to post, but I don't want to get behind!

Here are the birthday preparations we did last night:

Her birthday chair, like Sydney's:

I just realized I've never posted pictures of our living room furniture, so here's a tour of the rest of the living room:

Stroller parking:

Here's a closeup of the picture on the wall, taken (back in April) by the talented Kaci, owner of Sweet Southern Style Photography:
Back to the other side of the room:

That's the front door, over on the left:
Back to the couch:

Pretty pillows from Pier 1.  Throw pillows, in general, are expensive!  When we were pillow shopping, Chet said, "We should just make our own pillows...and sell them!"  I was right there with him until the "and sell them" part.  I'm just not interested in launching a throw-pillow-making business right now.  Especially since I don't even know how to sew.
Birthday balloon:

We sang "Happy Birthday" to her first thing this morning:

Isn't she the cutest little thing?

Sydney singing:

She loves the balloon:

And she loves her chair:

Sydney is the bow police:

But Lorelei doesn't care:
